Season Kickoff Breakfast with the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce at Windows on Minnesota (7:30 AM – 9:00 AM)
Join us for an insiders look into the season opener and the 2008 Minnesota Vikings season. Moderator, Paul Allen will be joined by current players Matt Birk and Bernard Berrian, Vice President of Player Personnel Rick Spielman and Star Tribune columnist Judd Zulgad.
Qwest Community Tuesdays: Harvest Prep/Seed Academy – Media Welcome; Private Event (1:30 p.m.)
Pro Bowler Darren Sharper and several teammates will kickoff our season-long 17 weeks of community outreach at 1:30 PM at Harvest Prep/Seed Academy with a book drive benefiting Books for Africa. In addition, Qwest, through its Readers For Life program—and as thanks to the students for their generosity--will be donating a new book to each student at the school.

Buffalo Wild Wings Season Kickoff Party – (Evening - Time varies by location)
Join Buffalo Wild Wings and the Minnesota Vikings as we celebrate the opening of the regular season at all 17 Twin Cities area Buffalo Wild Wings locations. One winner from each location will be entered in a Grand Prize drawing for a trip for two (2) to the Vikings season opener on Monday Night, September 8th in Green Bay. Also, one winner from all 17 locations will win a pair of tickets to the Vikings home opener against Indianapolis on September 14th. Vikings cheerleaders and Vikings Street Team members will be at all 17 locations with player appearances at the Savage (Tarvaris Jackson), Eagan (Darren Sharper), Oakdale (Thomas Tapeh) and Champlin (Sidney Rice) locations.

Purple Friday
In support of the 2008 Vikings You Made the Team™ campaign, Vikings fans everywhere are encouraged to wear purple or Vikings merchandise on Fridays throughout the 2008 season to show their support of the team!

Starting this football season, Vikings.com will highlight a “Game of the Week” showcasing youth, high school and collegiate football talent in the state of Minnesota. Wayzata @ Minnetonka will kickoff this weekly tradition!

Mall of America Autograph and Flag Signing at the Best Buy Rotunda – (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Join the Minnesota Vikings and Mall of America as we celebrate the beginning of the 2008 season. Sign the new You Made the Team™ Flag (utilized in-stadium during the games) and even get the chance to meet some of your favorite players. The schedule of appearances is as follows:
1:00 – 2:00 PM Vikings Cheerleaders & Viktor the Viking
2:00 – 3:00 PM Bob Lurtsema and Joey Browner
3:00 – 4:00 PM Jared Allen, Pat Williams, Kevin Williams, Ray Edwards
4:00 – 5:00PM Randall McDaniel and Mike Morris
Due to the overwhelming demand for autographs from the starting defensive line unit, only 250 wristbands will be distributed for the 3pm autograph session. You may get a wristband on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Vikings Locker Room Store at Mall of America beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 6. Only one (1) wristband will be allowed per person. Only those with wristbands will be allowed for the 3pm session. No wristband is needed for the other autograph sessions.
