Game Summary
The Minnesota Vikings (1-1) return home this week to face former Vikings defensive coordinator and current Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) head coach Mike Tomlin and his squad on Saturday, August 23, at the HHH Metrodome. Kickoff for the nationally televised game is set for 7:00 p.m. (CT).
This will be the 12th time the two teams have matched up in the preseason, with the Vikings holding the overall lead 9-2. The last time they faced off in preseason action was during Head Coach Brad Childress’ first season with the Vikings in 2006, a game the Vikings won 17-10 at Pittsburgh (8/19).
Next Thursday, August 28, the Vikings close out the 2008 preseason at Dallas, while the Steelers return home to take on the Carolina Panthers.

Through the first two games of the 2008 preseason, QB Tarvaris Jackson has completed 15 of 22 (68.2%) passes for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is yet to be intercepted or sacked, and his quarterback rating of 127.1 is an improvement from his 2007 preseason rating of 70.6. That year Jackson fi nished his fi rst preseason campaign as a starter 20-of-38 (52.6%) for 225 yards and no touchdowns.
